RE: Georgia DNR to Close Some State Parks and Historic Sites

I just got back for a visit to High Falls SP to check out campsites for next weekend. I am pissed. They have all of the lake front lots closed and they are building some kind of igloo looking things to rent out. So not only did they make it so I can't have a lake front lot but the number of days these things will be rented it will probably take them 15 years to recoupe the money being spent on these things. Kind of hard to take when they are talking about closing state parks.

RE: Bad Walmart Campers II

In addition to the Wally Warthogs that besmirch the public perception of the average RVer, perhaps these excerpts from the RVUnfriendlyReadMe.txt will help CSpenceFLY and AO_hitech understand.
I'm not sure why you would think I don't understand. Just because I don't care one way or the other doesn't mean I don't understand.
We went through the same thing with a campground owner that complained about us parking our RVs and campers at the airport where we skydive. We tend to party at the dropzone. All it took was for someone to explain to the campground owner that he really didn't want us there for our party time.

RE: Bad Walmart Campers II

Has anyone looked at the demographics of this group? Look at it as a positive. There's got to be a way to turn a dollar here? These people are just sitting at the Wal-Mart parking lot an untapped market. Maybe something of a service oriented nature not available at Wal-Mart. Perhaps gourmet dinners served RV side as the sunsets over Wal-Mart or Spa treatments? :B:B:B:B:B:BWal*Mart's already getting most of my dollars spent out-of-pocket each year. Between groceries and buying diesel fuel to travel, more of my dollars go to WM than anywhere else. I'm glad to hand them all I can, since they're the lowest priced grocery and diesel fuel source store in the first place......no need to spend anywhere else but the collection plate at church each week.:)
I'm waiting for the Bank of Wal-Mart, so they can keep my money until I spend it in their stores.

Now that is funny!!:B

RE: Bad Walmart Campers II

I'm willing to bet that some Wally Warthogs are responsible for THIS!
Bull, Most places where it is not aloud it's because of city wide ordinance, probably put in place after the local campground owner complained because they couldn't get alllll the money.

RE: Bad Walmart Campers II

Don't you think it's kinda mean of you to belittle a whole group of people just because we all take an active interest in a vital RVing issue like this?
Maybe this is why I don't have many friends.
I just thought of something. I'm headed to our local Wal-mart today to see if I can get a job managing the campground.
All I know is, it's six pages in and you're still posting. I think on some level, you really want to come on over to the right side of this, don't you? :R
It's ok. We've all done things in the past we've regretted, you know? I'm sure no one will hold it against you. Or make fun of you endlessly while roasting smores and watching the moon rise over the blue neons to the gentle hum of the gennies. Each security pass with the flashing blue light reminiscent of a K-Mart special from days gone by...that special wish for the light standard with the plug at the bottom...ahhh...think I got somethin' in me eye.
I'm not really sure what the right side is or if you know which side I'm on. I have never "camped" at Wal-mart however I have stopped in the middle of the night to catch a few hours of sleep after having fallen behind schedule. I will probably do that again someday. I would never plan a trip around staying at a Wal-mart but have no problem with those that do. If it were a problem Wal-mart would put a stop to it. Why anyone would have an opinion other than this is beyond me.:B

Worked fine for me.
Bet that was an expensive lesson with the chopper ride.
Chopper ride would be about 8 to 10 grand.

RE: Help - No front airbag in Omaha

If your water tanks are behind the rear axle fill them up. The more weight behind the rear axle the lighter the front end.

RE: How my emergency plans went awry

Your insurance should reimburse you for this road service, if you have road service on your collision policy. Mine does on all my vehicles.
Next time call the Highway Patrol and ask them who they use for road service in the area your in. Then call this service and tell them the Highway Patrol told you to call as you're impeding traffic.

RE: 30 amp to 50 amp conversion

There are many ways to do this. Do a search here and do some reading. I added a second shore line for my second AC unit. I did it this way because there are alot of places that do not have 50 amp service.

RE: Propane Refills for $10.99?

Here in WA propane can only be sold by the gallon and must be pumped in to be sure you get what you pay for. Too many stations were charging a flat fee and short filling so they changed the law some years ago.
That is how it is here in Ga. I'm surprised they have let them get away with it for as long as they have. It's a rip off to have a tank filled unless it is completely empty.

If you think blue is bad you should see the pink that was in my '90 Pace Arrow. Just getting rid of the carpet made all the difference. I can hardly wait to do the rest.

It will not stop the leaks. You will still need to seal the seams.

RE: Camper fire, what happened here?

I also believe a pilot light or propane flame was on igniting fumes in the area. Then the fire spread to the diesel fuel running onto the ground.
If that were the case the explosion would have been outside the camper.
